A Brief History of Trinity Bible Church

Trinity Bible Church Verse: In the ages to come, Trinity Bible Church "might show the exceeding riches of God's grace in his kindness toward others through Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:7

Trinity Bible Church, located in Charleston, SC, was founded in 1988 by Pastor Barry Owens and his wife Gerry. The church has been guided by the hand of God from its inception and continues to be a strong presence in the community. The church uses the King James version of the Bible.

In July of 2008, the church moved into the new building and has recently completed further additions. The church's goal is to provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for all who attend.

What Our Church Is

Trinity Bible Church is unapologetically Christian, conservative, and patriotic. We pledge allegiance to the American Flag, the Christian Flag, and the Bible at the beginning of every Sunday morning service. Trinity Bible Church proudly supports missionaries both at home and abroad.

We believe that the Bible is God's Holy word and that everything contained in it is true. In our church, we use the King James Bible.

Our church makes a point of gathering congregation members for fellowship events such as oyster roasts, low-country seafood boils, celebrating holidays, camping trips, and more. We hope to see you here soon!

Meet Pastor Barry W. Owens

When he first accepted God's calling to become a pastor 60 years ago, Pastor Barry Owens was a strong, handsome, sharp man who loved Jesus. Today, Pastor Barry still loves Jesus.

Pastor Barry was born in the Low Country and has always lived in South Carolina. With a little bit of studying and a whole lot of prayer, he was able to graduate from a small Bible College in 1969. He has served as a pastor in 9 churches.

Pastor Barry has been able to pull it off in no small part because of the support of his beautiful, caring wife, Gerry. Together, they have helped to shepherd Trinity Bible Church since its inception in 1988, trusting God all along the way.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 5:13

While being the pastor is sometimes a thankless job, Pastor Barry would never change careers because most employers expect their employees to work more than one hour per week! (Some jobs might also expect him to be able to read more than one book)

Pastor Barry and Mrs. Gerry have been blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and an ever-increasing number of great-grandchildren.
